Terms of Service

These Terms form a binding agreement between you and Recsy ("we", "us", "our") and govern your use of the Recsy website and apps (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use Recsy.

1. Who can use Recsy

• You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
• You must provide accurate registration details and keep them up to date.
• You're responsible for activity on your account. Keep your password secret.
• One person, one account. Don't impersonate anyone else.

2. Your content

You own the recommendations, photos, comments and other content you post ("Your Content"). To run the Service we need a licence from you to display it.

You grant Recsy a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sub-licensable licence to host, store, reproduce, modify (for example, resize images), publish, publicly display and distribute Your Content for the limited purpose of operating, improving and promoting the Service. This licence ends when you delete Your Content or your account, except where we must retain copies to comply with law or where Your Content has been shared by others.

You confirm that you have the rights necessary to grant this licence and that Your Content does not infringe anyone else's rights.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Post illegal content, hate speech, harassment, sexual content involving minors, or content that incites violence.
• Spam, scrape, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the Service.
• Buy, sell, or transfer accounts; manipulate metrics; or use bots.
• Use Recsy to violate intellectual property, privacy, or any law.

Our Community Guidelines give more detail. Breaking them may result in content removal, suspension or termination.

4. Ads and commercial content

Recsy displays promoted recommendations, clearly labelled. Advertisers are bound by our Advertiser Terms. We are not responsible for the products or services advertised; transactions are between you and the advertiser.

5. AI-generated information

Recsy uses AI to suggest subtitles, tags, ratings and other reference info for the things you post. AI gets things wrong sometimes — treat it as a starting point, not a verified fact. AI-assisted fields are labelled in the app.

6. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or if we're required to by law. You can delete your account at any time from Settings; deletion is permanent and removes your content and personal data, subject to our retention obligations (see the Privacy Policy).

7. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law we exclude all warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

8. Liability

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud). Subject to that, our total liability arising out of or in connection with the Service is limited to the greater of (a) £100 or (b) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.

We are not liable for indirect, consequential or special losses, loss of profits, business or data, even if foreseeable.

9. Changes

We may change these Terms. If the change is material we'll notify you in-app or by email at least 14 days before it takes effect. Continued use after the change means you accept the new Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Scotland and the courts of Scotland have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, except that we may bring claims for unpaid amounts in your country of residence.
