Advertiser Terms

These terms apply to anyone running a Promoted rec on Recsy ("Advertiser", "you"). They sit on top of our main Terms.

1. Approval

Every campaign is reviewed by our team before it goes live. We may reject or pause a campaign at any time, for any reason that is lawful and non-discriminatory, including breach of these terms or our Community Guidelines.

2. Honesty

  • Claims must be truthful, substantiated, and not misleading.
  • You must hold the rights to all imagery, music and copy you upload.
  • Promotions, prices and availability must match the linked landing page.
  • Comply with UK ASA (CAP/BCAP) and the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008.

3. Prohibited categories

  • Tobacco, vapes, prescription drugs, gambling without a licence we've verified.
  • Weapons, ammunition, surveillance products.
  • Adult content, get-rich-quick schemes, MLMs, crypto/financial products marketed to retail without proper risk disclosures.
  • Political advertising in restricted periods unless permitted by law.

4. Targeting

You can target by category and location radius. You must not target sensitive attributes (health, race, religion, sexuality, politics) or attempt to identify individuals from aggregated metrics we provide.

5. Billing

  • Payment is upfront via Stripe in GBP (or such other currency we accept).
  • Refunds for unspent budget on cancelled campaigns are made to the original payment method within 14 days.
  • Refunds are not available for delivered impressions or clicks except where the failure is ours.

6. Transparency

Promoted recs are labelled "Promoted" in-app. We publish an Ads Library showing currently running campaigns (advertiser name, headline, targeting parameters and date range). By submitting a campaign you agree to its listing there.

7. Metrics and reporting

We provide impression and click counts for your campaign in the advertiser dashboard. Counts are best-effort; small variations are normal and not grounds for refund.

8. Suspension

We may pause or remove a campaign immediately if it breaches these terms, generates an unusual rate of user reports, or for safety/legal reasons. Where possible we'll explain why and let you appeal.

9. Liability

You indemnify Recsy against claims arising from Your Content or the products/services you advertise. Our liability is limited as set out in the main Terms.
